To be eligible, you must meet the following pre-participation criteria:

→ You are at least 18-years old and not currently pregnant.
→ You are generally healthy and not currently injured.
→ You have participated in moderate- to vigorous-intensity exercise on at least 3-days per week for at least the past 3-months.
→ You can dead-hang on a bar for at least 15-seconds.

A 9-week bespoke run-grip-run training plan tailored to your current grip strength.

What is included?

Each Hulk Hands training plan purchase gets you:
A personalised, structured, periodized, and progressive training plan based on your current grip fitness.
A run-grip-run training format aimed to prepare your hulk hands specifically for OCR race-day.
Two grip sessions per week aimed at strength and endurance.
Grip sessions with a defined dose (sets, reps, time) designed to gradually improve your grip strength & endurance.
A detailed warm-up protocol to prepare you to get your hulk on.
Defined post-session cool-down mobility exercises.
Advice on skin care to prevent rips and callouses.
All this, plus
A motivational check-in from Coach Thomas Solomon during the plan.

Your plan will be built with a periodised progression of your training load to gradually raise your grip fitness, with a taper to maintain grip fitness, relieve grip fatigue, and thereby peak your grip performance for the final grip strength testing week.

Frequently Asked Questions:


The Veohtu training plans are designed to be autonomous and there is no formal communication with a coach when using one. Formalised and regular communication is only available with a coached Veohtu Performance Programme. That said, your training plan architect, Thomas Solomon, will check-in with you during the plan to see how things are going and to help fuel your motivation..


The training plans are hosted on Google Sheets. You are paying for a weekly-updating training plan that automatically updates every Monday. You are only able to view one week at a time (the current calendar week). Neither prior weeks' sessions or future weeks’ sessions are visible or available to you.


You will need access to a pull-up bar (at home, or in a gym or callisthenics park or parkour/OCR centre), a towel, rope, or nunchuks (to throw-over or attach to your bar), kettlebells or weight plates (up to 20 kg for men and up to 15 kg for women, to use in pinch grip holds), and a rubber band or compression sock (for finger extensions).


If you purchase a training plan, you become eligible for the following discounts:
1. A "future plan discount" to be used if you purchase another training plan. You will automatically receive this in the final week of your plan.
2. A "referral" discount if you successfully refer a new paying client.
3. An "upgrade" discount off the cost of a coaching subscription if you choose to upgrade your training plan and join my coached Veohtu Performance Programme.


After purchasing a training plan you will be redirected to a screening questionnaire. If anything arises during the screening process that precludes your engagement in a training plan, you will receive a full refund of the amount paid. A refund cannot be given after your training plan has been sent to you.

The approaches and philosophies used in the Veohtu Training Plans are designed by me, Thomas Solomon PhD. I apply up-to-date scientific evidence combined with years of empirical observation and take pride in knowing that you are the only you. Your training plan will not use a “one size fits all” template, it will be bespoke to your fitness level and ability, and personalised specifically to target your goal race. My expertise is training plan design has been honed following more than 10 years of advising and coaching, over 15 years of academic research, and 20+ years of racing. I have a PhD in Exercise Science and have published more than 80 peer-reviewed publications in medical journals. I am also an ACSM-certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), an ACSM-certified Personal Trainer (ACSM-CPT), a VDOT-certified Distance Running Coach, and a Registered Nutritionist. I have the experience, expertise, and proven track-record to boost your fitness no matter whether you are a weekend warrior or a seasoned athlete. And, because I have in-depth racing experience with middle-distance track racing (800m to 10,000m), road racing (5 km to Marathon), trail running, mountain running, and obstacle course racing (OCR), I truly understand what it is like to train and compete in these disciplines—I have literally “been there, done it, and gotten sweat, mud, and tears on my t-shirt”.
