I'm a PhD scientist, certified exercise physiologist (ACSM-EP), registered nutritionist (RNur), and athlete.


I’m passionate about human health and performance, data quality, science communication, and open-access to education.


I aim to filter the signal from the noise and try to unite evidence with practice.


I provide free education with my deep-dive articles, “nerd alerts”, infographics, training tools, free training plans, and the train smart framework.


I also offer performance and nutrition consultations for road runners, marathon runners, trail runners, mountain runners, obstacle course racers, and endurance athletes.
